FRIDAY NIGHT MIXERS

                                                 BY-LAWS 2008-2009

 

Friday Night Mixers will bowl Friday evenings for 36 weeks, starting September 5, 2008, and ending May 8, 2009.

 

1. MANAGEMENT:

         The management of the League will have a Board of Directors, which will consist of Officers

and Team Captains.

2. FEES:

         The amount to be paid by each bowler shall be $22.00.  $1.00 will go to 50/50, $11.70 will

Cover the cost of bowling and $9.30 will be placed into the League Treasury by the Treasurer.

 

3. SALARIES:

         The salary to be paid to the Secretary will be $25.00 per team. The Treasurer’s salary will

 be $20.00 per team. Both to be paid at the end of the season.

 

4. PRIZES:

         The President will appoint a Committee who will draw up a prize list by the 5th week of bowling. The prize list must have at least $3024 for first place team. ($21x 4 x 36 wks) The Captains will vote to accept the prize list. To qualify for any individual awards, a bowler must bowl 2/3 (72 games) of the scheduled season. A bowler or team may qualify for only one special award.

 

5. CERTIFICATIONS:

         Certification fee is $16.00 for men , out of county certification fee for men is $6.00, for women fee is $17.00  out of county fee is $6.00.  Out of State certification fee for men or women is $6.00.

 

6. ESTABLISHING AVERAGES:

         1. This League average from 2007-2008 for a minimum of 21 games.

         2. Highest USBC winter book average 2007-2008.         

         3. Anyone without an average will establish one after three games.

         4. Any bowler with an average from last season will keep this average for nine games, this even applies to subs.  

 

7. HANDICAP:

         The handicap shall be 85% and shall be based on an individual average of 230.

 

8. SUBSTITUTES:

          Subs do not have to be the same sex as the missing bowler, as long as there is at least one member of the opposite sex on the team. After the 18th week of bowling, no new subs.  Subs are permitted on position night but must have bowled at least nine games in this league this season, with the exception of the first position night, where nine games from previous season will be accepted.  NO SUBS THE LAST 2 WEEKS OF BOWLING.

 

9. LEGAL TEAM:

         A mixed team will consist of 2 males and 2 females, 1 male and 3 female, 3 males and 1 female.

 

 

10. LEGAL LINE UP:

A legal line up must include at least 1 regular bowler from a team’s current roster. 

 

11.  FORFEITURE:

                When a game is declared a forfeit, the team present must bowl as though the game

 was actual and must bowl within forty pins of own team’s current average.

 

12.  BLIND SCORES:

                 The blind score will be their current average minus 10 pins.

 

13.  PRE-BOWLING:

                Pre-bowling will be allowed only after advising an Officer. If an Officer cannot be there, printouts must be obtained and the desk personnel must initial any changes.  NO SUBS ALLOWED. Pre-bowl scores will be written on recap sheet if you pre-bowl for any reason, you can’t change your mind and bowl, you must use pre-bowl for that week. NO INDIVIDUAL PRE-BOWLING ALLOWED... Pre-bowling is limited to four (4) times per season.

 

14.  PLAYOFFS AND FINAL STANDINGS:

                In case of a tie for first place, a 1 game roll off will decide winner. In the event of a tie

after the roll off, an extra 10th frame will be bowled. Any other tie, monies will be split equally. Team total handicap pins will determine trophy winner.

 

15. TARDY PLAYERS:

                A late bowler can enter the first game as long as the team is still bowling in the fourth frame. However, you must be present at the start of games 2 and 3.

 

16. NO SHOWS:

                Any bowler who is absent without notification for 2 consecutive weeks will be ineligible

 to bowl in this League. To be reinstated you must pay all back dues before bowling.

 

17. BACK DUES:

                Any person who is more than 1 week behind ($22.00) cannot bowl. The individual’s score

will be lesser of blind/vacancy.

 

18. VACANCY ON A TEAM:

                If there is a vacant spot on a team a 150 average will be given for vacancy plus handicap.

 

19. BUMPER WEEKS:

                There will be a bumper night every 6th week of bowling, and the last two weeks.  If a team is tied at bumper week, total team handicap wood will decide standing. On the last two (2) weeks, should the first team clinch 1st, the 1st place team will bowl the last place team.  If the 1st team and 2nd team clinch, they will bowl each other.

 

20. 50/50:

      Laura Zollo will sell tickets every week. The team that she is bowling against can help assist in ripping tickets. Cost of tickets will be 3 for $2.00 and 10 for $5.00.

 

 

21.  ANY RULES NOT COVERED IN THE BY-LAWS: USBC RULES WILL APPLY.
